"DESIGNING FOR A NEW NORM COVID-19 has lead to more and more employees working from home. 98% of people surveyed said they would like the option to work remotely for the rest of their careers. But not everything is positive, with workers finding the biggest challenge is 'unplugging' from work. The flex life It’s no secret that people value freedom of choice. A whopping  98%  of people would like to have the option to work remotely for the rest of their careers. Aside from working in sweatpants, what are the things people like about working from home? " Design is not what it just looks like.Design is how it works." Design Thinking is a design methodology that provides a solution-based approach to solving problems. It’s extremely useful in tackling complex problems that are ill-defined or unknown, by understanding the human needs involved, by re-framing the problem in human-centric ways, by creating many ideas in brainstorming sessions, and by adopting a hands-on approach in prototyping and testing. Design Thinking model proposed by the Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (d.school). d.school is the leading university when it comes to teaching Design Thinking. Why use design thinking approaches? Allows you to view a problem from a different perspective Allows you to delve into a problem to determine its root cause. Encourages innovative thinking and creative problem solving Ensures that the final outcome meets objectives and client requirements. Results in an experience that is more effective a...

Day 3 Found a problem " Unsafe Workspace station"

Image
Today we had the briefing for concept design "1" felt like it was pretty much similar to this module's as well.  Protective Gears  Did a little research on the medical industry  felt like it's too saturated.  Thought of a remote working station environment /common area in the house, where both parents and their children work and study all at the same time.  Smart portable cubicles connected to the rest of the house, and the other cubicles as well if needed.  Cubicles like this but portable and compact  Something close to this but not meant for sleeping but working/studying yet portable as well.  Connectivity to rest of the house must be a key factor, so parents can monitor their kids performance and safety while at the convinces of their own workspace.  In terms of setup something close to gaming gadgets but not yet gaming. It would have an all digital stationary like sticky notes, alarm, reminder, highlighters etc within to make sure once yo...

Ideation   Children social distancing gadgets?  A gadget that helps/reminds kids to stay apart. Back 2 School kinda thing!  Would be installed in several areas especially the playgroup.  Disclaimer!!! I would be designing a social distancing furniture since I just spoke to my brother whom I would be interviewing soon so stay tuned. With the help of the "Design Thinking methodology". Update!!!!  Night Night! ✌✌ So when searching for person to interview I decided to drop what would be helpful to y'all (family and friends) my whole family and most of my friends said social distancing furniture would be a great idea. They gave me stories and reasons to why I need to consider it and they would love to be interviewed by me.
